Summer Maternity Session

This week I had the most beautiful summer Maternity Session! The night was perfect, the light was perfect and the clients were perfect! I am in love with this session! I don’t shoot much in the summer, most of my outdoor sessions are in Spring and Summer. After my last few sessions, I think that summer may be my favorite! The light is beautiful in the summer, and this summer we still have some green and flowers in the fields! Usually, summer and fall are dry fields so this was a nice surprise!

Gorgeous Mama!

This gorgeous mama was about 31 weeks. Perfect timing for maternity sessions, not too small but not too big to be uncomfortable posing. She was also a dancer and could pull off standing on her toes like nobody’s business! She and dad were so fun and such trooper with all the bugs! The rains brought beautiful fields and lots of bugs! We were able to use a few different spots to give them a different look for each dress that she chose. That is one of my favorite things about Riley Wilderness Park there are so many little areas that look so different from each other. The creek bed with the sand and trees on either side, the big trees near the parking lot and then the fields with giant oak trees.

During the session, I had to ask mom where her accent was from. I love to know where people have come from its one of my quirky things. I was SO surprised when she said Russia! 🙂 I’m not sure why that surprised me so much but I think I had placed her in Spain so Russia was a surprise! I think the reason I love to know where people have come from is the same reason I love photography. It tells a story! Old photos tell me where I came from, the places my family visited and a connection to those I never had a chance to meet. Photos are now telling my grandson his story and I love being part of that experience and answering those questions about his heritage.
