HOW DOES IT WORK?
1. LETS GET YOU BOOKED
Ready to celebrate your little one’s first birthday? Send me your baby’s birthday and your preffed session date using the contact form.
I recommend booking 4-6 weeks in advance, especially if you have a specific theme in mind. Once we’ve chosen your date, I’ll send everything you need to officially reserve your session.
2. LET’S PLAN SOMETHING FUN!
This is where the magic happens! I’ll send you a questionnaire to learn more about your baby and your theme ideas.
I’ll design the set, gather the decorations and props, and have everything ready when you arrive. You don’t have to worry about a thing!
3. IT’S CAKE SMASH DAY!
Bring your baby, a cake, and someone who’s ready to get a little messy! We’ll start with sweet, clean portraits before bringing out the cake.
And don’t forget a change of clothes for whoever helps with the baby. Trust me on this one! 😂
I try to think of everything so you don’t have to!
CAKE SMASH PHOTO SESSION FAQS
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY CAKE SMASH?
I recommend booking 4–6 weeks in advance, especially for custom themes. If you have a specific date in mind, earlier is always better! Weekend sessions are available for an additional $50.
HOW MANY SETUPS DOES THE PHOTO SHOOT INCLUDE?
We start with timeless, classic portraits on a simple backdrop, usually white. Then we move to your custom birthday set for some fun with the cake!
We finish with adorable splash photos in the same themed set. That means you’ll get a beautiful variety of portraits from your baby’s first birthday session!
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
Just your baby, a cake, and something to drink! A favorite toy can also help your little one feel comfortable. I’ll provide the backdrop, props, and outfits (depending on sizing).
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE MY BABY?
Let your baby explore a little cake or frosting before the session so the texture isn’t completely new. It’s also helpful to schedule around their usual nap time so they’re happy and rested!
DO I GET A CUSTOM THEME?
Absolutely! I love creating personalized sets inspired by your ideas. We’ll discuss colors and themes as we plan. Custom decorations are included with eligible collections.
HOW OLD SHOULD MY BABY BE?
Cake smash sessions are typically scheduled between 11 and 13 months. If you’d like your photos before the birthday party, I recommend scheduling your session at least three weeks in advance.
