Cake Smash Sessions are the perfect way to celebrate your Baby’s First Birthday! Who doesn’t love seeing a baby eat cake? It’s the absolute cutest!
As your Central Texas Cake Smash expert, I will make everything easy for you! I know you already have SO much going on planning a party and life with a little one. I’ll do all the shopping for the props and outfits and make sure everything is ready. Your session includes the backdrop, props, and outfit. Cake smash sessions are one of my favorites because they are so unpredictable! No matter what happens, they are always so cute!

HOW DO I BOOK MY CAKE SMASH?
FIRST CONTACT ME WITH YOUR DATE
First, Fill out the contact form at the bottom of the page, and I will send over my information!
I recommend booking your session at least 4-6 weeks before your baby’s birthday. Planning the first birthday celebration can be a big task, but booking your session early and off your plate ensures it won’t be forgotten and is one less thing to worry about!
Let me know when you’re ready to book, and I will set you up. You only need to choose your session type and pay your retainer/session fee! By the way, it’s all done via email or online—super easy, no stress!
NEXT, LETS GET PLANNING!
I supply all the props, backdrops, and accessories, so no need to worry! You will only bring a simple white cake and a baby!
You will also have access to a client closet for your baby’s outfit for the session – again, there will be no stress for the mom! Everything is taken care of for you!
I will send out a questionnaire and ask for your feedback and ideas for the theme. I will take your feedback and design a custom set just for you! A few days before the session, I will ask for personal info about your baby to help me learn more about their little personality!
IT’S SESSION DAY!!
I will have everything set up and ready for your arrival! We have discussed nap times and come up with the best time for your session. The only thing I ask is that you please don’t be late! Session times are carefully planned for the happiest baby, which we all want!
You will have one wrangler for the baby, lol! This can be mom, dad, grandma, or anyone baby is very comfortable with! This person will get messy! Their job is to keep putting the baby back into the set. Make sure to bring a change of clothes, especially if you need to run errands after the session!
I have a bathroom with everything you need to clean up after the session.
I try to think of everything so you don’t have to!
CAKE SMASH PHOTO SESSION FAQS
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY CAKE SMASH?
I suggest booking 1-2 months in advance; this gives me ample time to pull everything together for your set. If you choose a simple smash, 2-4 weeks in advance is perfect! Weekend dates are an additional $50 and go very quickly! If you have an elaborate theme or one that requires special order, you will need to book no less than 4- 6 weeks in advance. Always ask even if it’s closer than the suggested time frame I almost always have something open up!
HOW MANY SETUPS DOES THE PHOTO SHOOT INCLUDE?
All sessions are done clean and messy in the same set. I have packages that add a set or a bonus splash at the end.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
A simple white cake. I also suggest bringing water or milk for sips during the cake. Also, bring a favorite toy or something they love at the time of the shoot. That way, if something has to be in the photos with them, it’s something that will be a great memory, too!
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE MY BABY?
Let your baby have some cupcakes (the little ones the grocery store makes are perfect) ahead of time. Let them play and get messy without wiping their hands. Make sure they’ve been introduced to something sweet as well. Babies don’t naturally love sugar and may gag or cry at first taste! (Crazy right?!)
DO I GET A CUSTOM THEME?
I have done many Cake Smash sessions; every theme has been great! I am always open to new ideas and do my best to incorporate them! Simple Smash will be a solid-color backdrop only.
HOW OLD SHOULD MY BABY BE?
First Birthday photoshoots can be scheduled anytime between 11-13 months. If you want the photos back in time for their birthday party, please schedule at least 3 weeks before the party.
