Cake Smash Session! | Lincoln is ONE
Lincoln’s Cake Smash Session!
This is the story of how we got to Lincoln’s cake smash session. I met this then family of 3 for their maternity shoot a little over a year ago and did Lincoln’s Newborn photos a few weeks later. Throw in a few mini sessions through out the year and by Lincoln’s 1st Birthday this family has won my heart! I enjoy chatting with them they have the best sense of humor! I love that they can laugh at and with themselves but have such high respect for themselves and others.
These guys are just flat out fun, and when the pugs come along for a shoot it’s hysterical to me! I guess I am easily entertained, but between the pugs at the newborn shoot in the sibling shot and the parents in pug sweaters with the pugs on the bed for Christmas, I’m not sure which one was better! I seriously laugh so hard during the shoot and while editing! Truly one of my favorite families to shoot and it may be because of the pugs! (Funny I was never a fan of pugs until I met these two!)
It’s My Party And I’ll Cry If I Want To!
Lincoln wasn’t sure about this whole cake thing and really wanted mama to be in the pictures with him! We tried everything but his mama is way better than cake or balloons! Can you believe his Mom made this amazing cake! I’ve thrown in a few of pugs since they didn’t come to the cake smash! Although I think it would have been SO entertaining to have them there and probably a big blue mess later that evening! Maybe we can do a pug cake smash session one day, wink wink!
Lincoln’s Birthday theme was “Formula 1”. We did a super fun car set before the cake. I really love coming up with these sets for first birthday sessions! Doing these sets gives me a chance to be more creative and have fun. I make all the banners for the background and collect themed treasures in the weeks leading up to the session. I love it, but I’m prejudiced, they’re my Grandchildren!
Oh my goodness! Theses photos of Lincoln are absolutely adorable! How wonderful to be able to give this family so many memories!
