When booking a Newborn Session I always recommend coming in and meeting me. I’m the person that will be handling your new baby for several hours in his or her first few days! Having a background in owning a home daycare business, I know parents want to meet the caregiver. I met with parents all the time and tried to put their minds at ease about leaving their precious new baby when they went back to work. I offer the same thing to parents looking for a Newborn photographer – come meet me, we can chat about the session, your pregnancy, whatever you want! Even if you don’t choose me, I want to help you navigate this industry and choose the best photographer for you and your new baby.
My Why…
I met this beautiful couple a few months before their little guy was due. We chatted about how the session would look, expectations, the fact that I thought boys were easier to photograph than girls (Sebastian blew that theory out of the water! haha!!), and in the conversation Dad mentioned Star Wars. I was then on a quest to find the perfect Star Wars accessories for their new little guy! I surprised dad by having a few things custom made for their session! Listening and trying to pick out the little things to make parents smile is worth the world to me! Sebastian’s daddy was so fun to watch and listen to as I shot this image for them! This is why I do this, this family will have this image forever and there will be countless conversations about Star Wars between father and son taking place while looking at this image! It goes so much deeper than just capturing a photo of a baby it’s putting a piece of your family into that image along with your baby!
You would never know that sweet little Sebastian had a tough time during his shoot. He really just wanted his mama so he got lots of mama snuggles and feedings. So many parents worry that their baby won’t sleep for the session, then what? Well this little guy took 3-5 minute power naps! You would never know looking at the images. My theory is to follow the baby’s lead, if they are hungry they eat, if they seem to just need some mommy time then they get it, if they like to be swaddled we do wrap shots. Every baby has unique likes and dislikes and I watch for those and adjust to fit them while still giving you beautiful images!
